Saturday 19th March and Ruby had made the journey to Millets Farm Centre near Abingdon the evening before, getting up to 50mph on the A34 – not bad for a lady over 70.
She parked up near the entrance to the Lakeview restaurant, where the first Ruby’s Vintage and Retro Fair of 2016 was being held. It was an extremely cold day, no hint of Spring but that did not deter visitors flocking in to the first fair we have held at this wonderful attraction.
Not due to open until 10am, people were queueing from 9.45am. Almost 200 visitors came in that first hour and continued to flow throughout the day. They were entertained by the fabulous Steve Conway while browsing and shopping. It was nice to see some old friends from our Abingdon Guildhall events and other Fairs.
Many Ruby’s regulars were exhibiting as well as some lovely new stallholders. The Lakeview Room is a fabulous venue with views over farmland and the lake . Stallholders and visitors enjoyed the cosy warm atmosphere and there was a buzz to the whole day.
Thanks to everyone – stallholders, visitors and staff at Millets who made our first fair there such a success. We hope to be back…..!
