Yes, this year will be our 10th Glorious Year of running vintage events – hard to believe it was April 2012 when our first Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fair was in a small downstairs room at Newbury Rugby Club.
Originally Lyn’s idea was that by running her own vintage fair, she wouldn’t have to get up early but of course that was a stupid notion because event organisers have to arrive even earlier than stallholders!
It happened that Yvonne was looking to express her love of vintage as well as relaxing from her international corporate career in the perfume business so we were able to book our first venue and here we are, 10 years later and still going.
Yvonne left for a few years for a last hurrah in Paris and Shanghai which was when another corporate high flyer came on board. Alison had just taken redundancy from a big pharma company so she seamlessly took Yvonne’s place until she stepped down for personal reasons and Yvonne returned from Shanghai.
It’s hard work running any kind of event but it’s great fun too – the satisfaction of a busy buzzy hall full of happy stallholders and interested and interesting visitors is immense. We’ve met some lovely people along the way and we enjoy seeing our regular stallholders and all our returning visitors. Our venues have been amazing and diverse over the years
To celebrate 10 years, we will be giving away gifts and prizes throughout the year so do come along to one of our events during 2022
