Hello, Alison here! Lyn’s new partner in Ruby’s.
Rather fortuitously, when Lyn asked me if I would be interested in joining Ruby’s as Yvonne, her previous business partner was relocating to Shanghai, I was about to take early retirement from my busy corporate job so this gave me a new interest and a new venture.
It has been a lovely change in pace and lifestyle and I have bought some gorgeous vintage jewellery! Lyn tells me I have the perfect figure for real vintage but as a relative newcomer, I am waiting to find my dream shawl-collared swing coat before I commit to a real vintage look.
On Sunday 17th August, Lyn and I went down to Southampton to The Yellow Vintage Fair to look for potential new stallholders and to check out another type of vintage event. We met a few of our current stallholders, met some other (hopefully) future stallholders, said hello to Steve Conway who was performing his smooth swing sounds and who will also be at our Abingdon Guildhall Fair on 13th September. We also had the chance to meet and hear the fabulous Lianna, who is booked for our Abingdon event on 29th November. So all in all, a great vintage day out!
Looking forward to our next Fair when I fancy getting a vintage makeover with hair style and make up done by Carli Morris. Can’t wait!!!
