Newbury College had an Open Day as well as hosting Ruby’s on Saturday 17th May so we shared the building with budding students and potential apprentices – hopefully we managed to convert some of them to the joys of vintage!
The BBC thinks vintage might have peaked – we think that whilst it has grown in popularity, it will carry on because people will always like old beautiful things either in their home or as something original to wear.
In addition to organising and running Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fairs, Lyn also buys and sells vintage costume jewellery and accessories. She mainly sources from the USA where vintage is not so mainstream and brings it back for the delight of vintage lovers in the UK.
Ruby held her latest Fair back in Newbury on Saturday 19 October; this time we explored the airy spaces of Newbury College where over 40 stallholders spread their wares for the 400 or so visitors. Amongst the goodies on offer were clothes, handbags, jewellery and accessories as well as upcycled jewellery, artworks and china. Beauty products sat alongside curiously eclectic finds from France and Holland and beautiful painted furniture.
