The BBC thinks vintage might have peaked – we think that whilst it has grown in popularity, it will carry on because people will always like old beautiful things either in their home or as something original to wear.
In addition to organising and running Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fairs, Lyn also buys and sells vintage costume jewellery and accessories. She mainly sources from the USA where vintage is not so mainstream and brings it back for the delight of vintage lovers in the UK. read more
(LYN) The idea for running a vintage fair came when I got a bit fed-up with getting up early at the weekend to sell my vintage costume jewellery at events around the Newbury area. So I thought that if I started one myself, I could get up a bit later. read more
Our first Fair of the year at Newbury College took place on Saturday 8th of March and it was the first one for a while that Ruby herself was present.
For those of you who don’t know, Ruby is Lyn (& Vic’s) 1938 Vauxhall 14/6 and she was parked outside the front door of the College in all her splendour. She definitely added to the atmosphere and proved to be very popular with old and young alike. read more
2014 got off to a great start when Ruby’s arrived back in Abingdon Guildhall. The Abbey Hall and the Roysse Room were fit to bursting with a wide variety of great vintage sellers, some were our Ruby’s Regulars and some were first timers. read more

Ruby held her latest Fair back in Newbury on Saturday 19 October; this time we explored the airy spaces of Newbury College where over 40 stallholders spread their wares for the 400 or so visitors. Amongst the goodies on offer were clothes, handbags, jewellery and accessories as well as upcycled jewellery, artworks and china. Beauty products sat alongside curiously eclectic finds from France and Holland and beautiful painted furniture. read more
