We were tremendously excited to be part of this event at Compton Verney Art Gallery & Park and the day certainly lived up to expectations!

From a sunny start to a glorious day of English summer at it’s best, the 1950s vintage Day didn’t disappoint – there was  live music from The Rocco Singers, dance lessons and demonstrations from Strictly Jitterbug, full vintage beauty makeover from Chez Titine, the ladies of the WI were dressed in their finest and demonstrating crafts of the 1950s complete with a typical kitchen, vintage vehicles from the National Motor Museum,  a beach (!) and Segway tours, a 1950s allotment, a tombola, kids games, ice cream and vintage teas, oh and of course, the wonderful exhibition itself which showcases Sanderson fabrics, Ercol furniture, 1950s fabrics and dresses and of course us!

We were in 4 rooms and our stallholders did us proud with a fine display of all things 1950s for the 1000 plus discerning vintage lovers who seemed to be caught up in the great atmosphere.  There were so many beautiful ladies in vintage dresses and dapper chaps as well as some children dressed to suit – it was a pleasure to see everyone.

The exhibition continues right through to October so there is plenty of time to visit if you didn’t get the chance yesterday.
