Ruby’s at Park House School on September 27th 2014

Ruby's Vintage & Retro Fair
Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fair

After having to move pretty sharpish from Newbury College when they decided not to honour our longstanding booking, we were able to nip just down the road to Park House School so many thanks to the Head Master and Sue Atkinson in helping us to find a new home at  short notice!

The day started well with beautifully easy unloading and parking for our many and lovely stallholders and they made the light and airy 6th Form Common Room and the imposing Main Hall  look full and exciting.

RubyToo, Ruby’s older and racier sister made her first appearance at a Fair and basked in the late summer sunshine along with her uniformed gentleman friend – a 1950s Woseley Police Car.  They both proved to be a big attraction to Dads and children alike and we were able to let people sit in RubyToo and try out the dickey seat which was quite a novelty for some.  Pictures will follow!

We had a slow but steady stream of visitors who came up to the school, most of whom were seen leaving with one or many bags after having enjoyed the superb cakes of the VJ Vintage Team.

We can’t deny we were slightly disappointed with the overall visitor footfall so if anyone who came along has any comments about the Fair or anything they think can help us make the event better or would attract more people, we would welcome them.

A short break now and then it’s on to our first Ruby’s at the Old Town Hall in High Wycombe.  We are almost full for stalls already and are very excited about this venue so we hope you will follow us to High Wycombe on Saturday 15th November
